Opening Reception and Registration

WHAT
Come meet your fellow Three Sheets Regatta sailors and receive essential event information!

There will be a shuttle service available to bring you from your boat in Coral Bay to the Salty Mongoose.

At the Opening Registration, skippers will be given a “goodie bag” and all registered participants will receive the wristbands they will need in order to be granted admittance to the other Three Sheets Regatta events.

To receive a complimentary beverage, show your wristband to the Salty Mongoose staff.

Shuttle from Coral Bay to/from the Salty Mongoose

If your dinghy is stowed for the sail to St. Croix and you need a ride to the Salty Mongoose for the Opening Celebration and Registration Party tonight, please contact Kim of the Salty Mongoose at +1 (727) 259-4870. She will be handling transportation to the Salty Mongoose from 4:00 - 5:00pm and again after the event wraps up. (Thank you, Kim!)

Leg 1 Race from Coral Bay, St. John to Pull Point/Buck Island, St. Croix

Please be in Coral Bay and tune in to VHF channel 72 no later than 7:30 am on Friday, December 1.

The Race Committee intends to make courtesy announcements identifying the location of the starting area beginning at approximately 7:30 am. Notices to competitors, including postponement, will be broadcast on VHF 72 by the Race Committee.

The starting line will be between an orange flag on the signal boat and a nearby mark, to be communicated prior to the first warning signal by the Race Committee.

The first warning signal for the Leg 1 Start will be Friday, December 1 at 8:00 am.

The Start will be a 5-minute flag sequence as defined by the RRS 26. If a sound signal accompanies the flag sequence, it is as a courtesy.

The St. Croix finish line will be between a blue flag on the porch of the green-roofed house on Pull Point and the west end of Buck Island. Nearby marks may be an inflatable shape, a mooring ball, or an existing navigational mark.

Leg 1 Post-Race Party & Awards Ceremony

WHAT
After the first race from St. John to St. Croix, gather with your fellow racers and Three Sheets Regatta crew at the beautiful and historic Club Comanche Hotel’s Palm Garden for food and libations and the presentation of Leg 1 awards.

There will be a shuttle service available to transport sailors from regatta boats in Christiansted Harbor to shore near the Club Comanche Hotel. If you’d prefer to take your own dinghy, you will find a dinghy dock across from the Rum Runners Restaurant. The Club Comanche Hotel is only a block away. Information regarding the Friday shuttle service will be provided at the skippers’ briefing on Thursday at the Salty Mongoose.

The Leg 1 awards presentation will begin around 6:00.

St. Croix Layover Day

Saturday, December 2, enjoy a day of recreation exploring the beautiful island of St. Croix with your regatta crew and friends.

Leg 2 Race from Buck Island Channel, St. Croix to Charlotte Amalie Harbor, St. Thomas

Please be near the Buck Island Channel and tune in to VHF channel 72 no later than 7:30 am on Sunday, December 3.

The Race Committee intends to make courtesy announcements identifying the location of the starting area beginning at approximately 7:30 am. Notices to competitors, including postponement, will be broadcast on VHF 72 by the Race Committee.

The St. Thomas finish line will be at the entrance to Charlotte Amalie Harbor, between a nearby mark and 26’ MV On Time, off Point Knoll. When approaching St. Thomas, please call the Race Committee on channel 72 for more detailed instructions.

Anchor in Charlotte Amalie Harbor or tie up to the harbor quay.
